Open Space & Recreation

Social cohesion, health and wellbeing, ecological biodiversity, visual amenity, and air quality benefits are among the commonly understood positive outcomes of open space within urban areas.  Different sizes and types of open space can serve these needs to varying degrees.

New forms of urban development, including inner urban areas, require new thinking regarding the provision of open space in terms of spatial distribution and quantity, but more importantly, the standard and variety of facilities and the experiences provided.

We have significant experience, from the macro to the micro scale – from the preparation of open space strategies - through to the master planning and concept design of parks.
